One of the best nights of my life

To set the scene: I was in Portland, after having been away from Charlotte for over two weeks… which means I hadn’t seen Stacey either. The trip so far had been great and I knew it would only be getting better. It was Thursday, we were approaching the eve of the wedding of one of my good, good friends, Josh. The afternoon Stacey arrived in town for the wedding and we had planned a little BBQ at my Mom’s new spot. We’ll take any excuse to get the Family and Friends together.
That’s me taking the leap of faith with Nate (rocking the Kirkham Racing gear!) looking on from below.
The night was one I will never forget. Nothing incredibly spectacular happened it was just having the right mix of People around, enjoying good food, good drinks, amazing Oregon weather and childish thrills. Behind my Mom and Gary’s new place is THE PERFECT “swimming hole” … equipped with a proper 50-60ish foot jump. We must have jumped it at least 7 times that night.
Just after the bachelor, Josh, yelled out “You think I am going to let you do this without me!” and stripped from his suit and tie to join us while we swam to the cliff, I remember looking over at Eric and saying “this is one of the best nights of our lives,” speaking for everyone as if it was obvious.
I was pretty bruised up the next day because of the impact from the water. Totally worth it. It. Was. Epic.
